The Man and Mouse
30 X 40
Oil on Canvas. 1997
The painting The Man and Mouse is about a violinist who plays about our life — about what can happen to us if we lose our values. On the tree we see a mouse sitting on a Torah scroll. The mouse symbolizes human tragedies of the past and future, and all the misfortunes that occur when the Torah is far from our hearts. The clock in the painting is another symbol that reminds us how close we can be to tragedy if we keep our sacred things far from us.
